We recently enrolled Jacob in Karate class. I think it will be very good for him. He is very nervous and soft spoken at his classes. He likes to be good at what he does so he is hesitant to try new things. At home he is loud and controls every situation he can, but at Karate he is the complete opposite. I guess it reminds me that he is still just a little kid.

Evan and Mommy Day
Since September there have been four days a month that Jacob was at preschool and Evan was at home with me. Evan had started asking if tomorrow was Evan and Mommy Day. As many of you know, it is very difficult to have alone time with your second born, as they are always in the shadow of their older sibling. Evan and I enjoyed our time together and would often go meet Nate for lunch. All this is coming to an end, as we have decided to send the boys to the same daycare/preschool from now on.
Here is a picture of my stud muffin from the last official Evan and Mommy Day.

A Jacob Original
Jacob was singing with his guitar tonight and busted out with a Jacob original. He told us that he worked on it for ten days.

Bowling Party
Jacob's birthday party was at a bowling alley this year. He told us who he wanted to invite to to his party. I was pleased to see that all the boys got along and were having a great time. Unfortunately we had an incident involving a finger and a bowling ball. After taking one of the boys to the ER and Nate manning the rest of the boys with another father, I think we may stay home bound for the next couple parties. The good news is that the other boys were not phased. They continued to bowl as if nothing ever happened. As for Anthony, he was a very brave boy and is back to his bouncy, energetic self.
Here is a picture of all the boys (Evan is still eating cake).

The Story of Jacob's birth...the short version
The day Jacob was born we went to the hospital because I thought I was in labor. While we were in triage Nate stood up and cracked his head on a TV hanging on the wall. (They have since removed this TV). So while I was in triage Nate was in the ER getting stitches. Turns out it wasn't time so we were sent home with some sleeping pills in my system. Little did we know that Jacob was ready and no sooner did we get home and into bed when my water broke and labor was in full swing. This time we bypassed triage and went straight to our room. Labor was extremely fast, no time for any drugs... except the sleeping pills I had taken which made things interesting. We were in such a rush that we forgot about going to park our car. A security man came to find us later that night. Oops.
Proud papa
What a great feeling. Hard to believe that was all four years ago!

Happy 4th Birthday Jacob
Jacob turns 4 on Friday the 8th of January. Here are some pictures of him over the past year.
(January) One year ago today.
(February) Dancing at a wedding
(May) Walking on the beach in San Diego.
(June) Playing with balloons in his undies
(July) Jammin' to some tunes on the headset.
(August) Helping to catch chickens to butcher.
(September) Being brave before getting 6 stitches.
(January 2010) Telling us how he really feels about all these pictures.
Just kidding, he is showing us his hurt finger.
Jacob.... You have definitely challenged us over the past year and I have a feeling there is more to come. We love you to pieces and can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Jam Session
Jacob loves his new guitar or guitard as he calls it. Here is one of his many jam sessions. Wait for the end of the video where he really lets loose.
