Me and the boys

Nate has just left us to go to Lambeau, he won't be back until Monday, and I'm going on a week of being sick. Yuck! Hopefully with all of their new toys, Jacob and Evan will stay busy so I can rest. Here are some post nap pictures that made me smile.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Christmas time

We had a successful Christmas at the Bindl household. The boys had fun opening their presents and drinking hot chocolate afterwards. Before bed they left Santa cookies, milk and a letter. Jacob was disappointed that Santa left before he could see him.
Below is a picture of the boys in their McQueen bath robes. They will come in handy with all the showers they like to take.
Jacob loved his doctor set. He went around listening to all of our lungs and giving shots, promising that it would only hurt for a second.
Evan's favorite presents were puzzles.

More McQueen!

Bathroom battles

Nate bit the bullet last weekend and told Jacob he was out of diapers, so he has been wearing underwear ever since. It hasn't been easy all the time but our biggest battle has been pooping. We did a big no-no with toilet training and went out of town this weekend. Jacob went #2 only once.... he usually goes 2-3 times a day! So when we got home we spent quite awhile with him crying because he had a stomach ache from not letting himself poop. But... then he did.. a lot! We all celebrated and were back to playing when Jacob screamed "Not again" as he ran into the bathroom. Wow! We were both speechless.
Havilands... you better watch out, Jacob may give you a run for your money.

Cookies.... Again!

My waistline will be thankful when the Holidays are over. We made snowmen and reindeer cookies. This time I cheated a little and made these when the boys were at daycare. Jacob and Evan did each make one reindeer though, then they were ready to eat them.

Merry Christmas from American Family

Today we woke up and headed to American Family for their annual employee Christmas. (Totally forgot about St. Nick coming to visit in the process.) We had never been to this before so we had no idea what to expect. They had many characters walking around to greet the children. Frosty (below), a penguin, a reindeer, and Bucky (unfortunately we missed him). The boys seemed to love these guys but when it came time to go by them, they both clung to me. Jacob did take a liking to the reindeer though, giving him a hug out of nowhere (too quick for us to catch a picture.)
Then we went to say hi to Santa and Mrs. Claus. Evan had no fear and went right up to Santa. Jacob, on the other hand, would not sit with him.

We did coax Jacob to hold Mrs. Claus's hand (and my finger, if you look closely) so we could get a quick picture of everyone together. Yeah!

There were lots of displays, handouts, tattoos, face painting, and caricature artists... all free. Jacob's favorite thing was receiving a toothbrush. Needless to say we had a lot of fun.

Below is Evan taking a bunny from one of the displays and running off with it.

Below Jacob is checking out his cool Green Bay Packers logo.

Thought these were funny so I took a picture of the caricature drawing of the boys. Take a look at Jacob's eyebrows in the picture above and then below.... pretty close.

Trains and Lights

Friday night, American Family Insurance sponsored a sneak peak at Olbrich Garden's Holiday Trains. The boys loved the trains and even more, the cookies and hot chocolate afterwards.

Since we were in the neighborhood, we headed over to see the Olin Park lights. It was a fun evening. It turned even better when I found out that I was able to stay home from work that night. In the morning (Saturday) we will head to Nate's work for another American Family event. Posting to follow.

Attitude

As our little boy continues to grow, he has developed a little attitude. Lately, whenever Evan is upset, or we are upset with him, he goes running into the corner of the toy room by the Lego's. He usually sits on top of one box then pushes everything out of his way and will sit and pout. It is kind of like he puts himself in timeout.
