Minocqua

This past weekend Nate and I were in Minocqua at our friends cabin.  It has become somewhat of a tradition, I think it has been five years now.  We continue to have a blast when we go there.  Our days were filled with fishing, bocci ball, yahtzee and cribbage.  Monical's Italian special was incredible as always.  We ate breakfast at noon and dinner at ten.  Despite being caught in a downpour while on the boat...twice...we had an amazing time.  We were very sad to leave.  Not too many pictures were taken so I'll share the few I have.

Sheri is getting ready for a weekend filled with Coors Light and Bud Select.  Don't forget the water!

Tweedledee and Tweedledum (aka Greg and Nate)

Preparing to go out in the torrential rain.

Yes, that is a water snake.  He was a little deranged and swam right at us with his head up in the air like he was doing a cobra dance.

(A HUGE thank you to grandpa Tom
for watching the rug-rats while we were away!)

Happy Father's Day!!

Happy Father's Day!
Thank you for being the best dad ever!
Love..... Jacob and Evan

Wedding Season has Arrived!

We spent the weekend in Spring Green because Nate was best man in a wedding on Saturday.  Everything was beautiful!  Jacob and Evan looked super cool in their Top Gun shades and had a blast playing with Tristan and Issac (the grooms kids).  When all four boys were together.... watch out!  They were a bunch of lookers but they also spelled T- R- O- U- B- L- E!

And of course... it was a wedding so there was a lot of dancing!

.....and some pouting because it was a long day!

The boys also loved hanging out with their uncle Chad and aunt Lisa

Cookies!

What do you do when you hurt your back and can't sit down or run around with your kids?  Make yummy treats!  Our first idea was to make fruit loop muffins from the recipe on the bag.  Bad idea!!  Those went into the trash....   So our next idea had to be a good one.  I saw these cookies at a birthday party the other weekend and thought they were soooo cute!  I love them.  Hamburger cookies! Perfect for a picnic and very easy to make.

Weekend Activities

This past weekend was packed full of fun for the boys.  Unfortunately I don't have many pictures to share.
Friday we took the boys to Verona Hometown Days.  Saturday was a birthday party and Sunday was the Verona parade.  We also had some visitors Sunday afternoon.

This is of Jacob, Evan, and our new neighbor Wyatt after they won guitars playing a fishing game at Hometown Days.

I didn't bring my camera to the birthday party so the next picture is from the parade.  I told the boys that the people in the parade would throw candy if they waved. They were much more excited than they look in this picture.

Here is a pic of Evan, Anthony and Elliot. (Jacob was in time out).  Evan and Anthony were racing cars while Elliot tasted the toys.
Despite some breakdowns, injuries and timeouts from the other three boys Elliot remained cool as a cucumber.

Great Finds

Nate loves his Free Cycle and will often come home with some projects for me.  The latest was an old beat up school desk.  I wish I had taken a picture of it beforehand.  It was all rusted and scribbled on.  I sanded, stained, and spray painted it and now I love it!  I had some left over wallpaper boarder that I used for the top.  The boys hide all there secret supplies in it.

We had to pay for our latest great find, but only $15 so it was worth it.  I never thought I would buy a kitchen for the boys but they LOVE this.  Of course they cook cars instead of food but they are boys.

Lazy Saturday

It is a very lazy Saturday morning at the Bindl household.
That means extra cartoons for Jacob and Evan.

Evan experimenting taking pictures with the camera.

Jellystone Park

This past week Nate and I took the boys on our first camping trip.  We opted to rent a camping cabin instead of using tents.  Thank the Lord for that because it rained on both days.  We were at Jellystone Park in Warrens, WI.  Here is a picture of our cabin.  It was teeny tiny, enough for a couple beds and a table to pile our shit stuff on.

We headed straight to one of the pools.  We wanted to get in the water before the rain came.  The boys had a blast once they got over getting sprayed with water.  We raced each other down the water slides over and over again. We took pictures in the water with our water camera so those pictures I'll have to share at a later date.

Other than playing in the water we were able to mini golf a couple times, ride swan paddle boats, sit by a couple campfires and just hike around the camp grounds.  Despite the rain and the fact that we were practically the ONLY ones there we had a great timeUnfortunately, many of the activities were shut down for the week.... but we were given a free stay so it all worked out.
