Verona Fire Dept Open House

This past weekend we all went to the Verona Fire Dept Open House. We were there for a couple hours... the boys had a blast. There were trucks to explore and things to try and food to eat. Evan pushed a red button on the fire truck and managed to set off a very loud siren.
Hello?? kids...big red button...what did they expect?
Below, we are taking a ride around Verona on a firetruck.
The next couple pics are of the boys learning how to put out fires.

Hopefully this is the only time my boys are inside a police car.
(hmmm... that officer looks vaguely familiar.)

Fishing

Yesterday grandpa Tom took us all fishing. The water was crystal clear. We could see the fish swimming towards us. They were catching them one after another. The boys loved fishing, although Jacob's favorite thing was being responsible for the worms.
In the words of Jacob..... "It was a fun day!"
I even managed to get pictures of the boys peeing off the side of the boat, but I think I'll save those for a later date.

Boys will be Boys

Yesterday we ended our 3 1/2 year stretch of no injuries requiring medical attention. I was in the shower thinking that I should have the phone closer in case daycare called because Jacob has been coughing a lot. So I got out of the shower and Nate was calling to tell me to go get Jacob... but not because he was coughing, because he fell and they said he needed stitches. Talk about mothers' intuition! So I rushed to get ready and was pulling out of the driveway when I realized that I didn't have a car seat! Luckily we still had an extra one so I put it in the car and was off. I took a chance with Urgent Care, hoping we could get in faster... straight into a room, no waiting!

All cleaned up waiting for the numbing liquid to work and for the doc to come stitch him up.

He required 6 stitches after it was all said and done. He was very brave and never screamed. He said ouch as the needle went in but was able to stay distracted with me reading him books.
As we were leaving he said he had fun! This could be trouble!! (I think he liked all the attention.)
