Hammy

My mom got the boys a hamster! Hammy quickly became a close friend of Jacob and Evan. Jacob takes good care of Hammy. He feeds him raisins and peanuts. He tucks him in before bed, reads to him, and yes even cleans up Hammy's droppings.

I found Jacob reading a story to Hammy, how cute is that!
Hammy isn't a real hamster but it doesn't seem to matter to the boys. He is actually pretty cool. He is battery operated and will crawl across the floor and run in his wheel all night long... (if you forget to turn him off). The perfect toddler pet!

Hello Owatonna!

Tuesday we drove to Owatonna to visit my sister Rachel and her family. Jabari turned one on the 20th so we had a belated birthday party for him. He is so big already!

It was nice to see Jabari and Evan playing together.
I just wish we lived closer so they could play more often.

We all decided to go outside to take advantage
of one of the last nice fall days.
Jacob did not want to join in the picture time fun.

Abort! Abort!
Let this be a lesson... do not force Jacob
to do something he doesn't want to do
unless you are prepared to deal with the consequences.

Ok, lets regroup here. Let me introduce Rachel and Jay's children.
Starting in the back row we have Jasmine and Cara.
In the front are Arbrianna, Jabari and Asia.

Week in Minnesota

The boys and I spent the week in Minnesota. We had a lot of fun with grandma and grandpa Dohman. Here are a couple pictures from the weekend.

The first one is of the boys watching Jake (my parents yellow lab).

Thank you for all your help Grandma!! We love you!

I am now a single parent until Halloween!! Yikes!
I was going to try and stay home, but who am I kidding, I need help! So Monday afternoon we are going on a road trip to Minnesota to visit my parents. Wish me luck for the 5 hour drive.

Bowling

Tonight we went bowling at Ten Pin. It was Jacob's first time and he had a blast! He even sported little bowling shoes. He actually got a spare and almost beat both of us. When we went to pay, we had to do a double take. Since when did a night of bowling cost $50! I remeber when it was less than $1 to rent shoes and under $2 to play a game. Does that make me sound old or what? Oh well, it was still a fun night.

Pumpkin Head

Pumpkin head explains it all.

Spider Cookies

Today was a drab laundry day so the boys and I needed something to spice things up. What does that better than chocolate? We made Halloween spider cookies. It was a lot of fun!. Jacob was a great helper, mixing the ingredients, rolling the balls in sprinkles, and adding the eyes. Evan was in charge of the legs/pretzels. He ended up eating most of them.
They were very proud of the end result! Yum!

Fall day at the park

Jacob is just hangin' out.Another 'cheese' face from Evan.
(We really need to work on that before our pictures.)
One of Jacob's favorites is the bridge.

Just a couple more....

Weekend Fun

This weekend Grandma and Grandpa Dohman came to visit. We all went to Eugsters Farm on Saturday. The weather was perfect! We started out visiting animals... pigs, cows, chickens, kittens, lambs, goats, donkeys, and geese to mention a few. Then we went through a corn maze. Evan led the pack showing us how to get through. FYI, if you want to feed the chickens and goats grab some corn while your in the corn maze. Then we all went on a hay ride to go pick our pumpkins from the pumpkin patch. After washing pumpkins and eating lunch we were all exhausted! We had a blast! If you have time stop by Eugsters in Stoughton. Did I mention the apples?....Yum! Cortlands are delicious! Here are a couple pics from the day.

Addition = Toy Room = DONE!

Yeah!!! The addition is done. It is now our official toy room. Nate logged a lot of hours and sleepless nights on this room, so he will hopefully take a break for awhile. Well there is the minor detail of finishing the stairs going outside, but then it is done.
