Mud Run

This past Sunday Nate's cousin Dan convinced us to run in the Madison Mud Run.  The run actually took place in Verona so it was very close to our house.  It consisted of a handful of obsticles like wall climbs, slip n slides, and mud pits spread out through a 4.6mile course.  It was SUPER windy that day so it made for a cold run, especially after running through the creek!  Despite the cold it was a lot of fun, and we got a free mud facial. We brought a waterproof camera with us so here are the pics... some are blurry because the camera was covered in mud.

Before the race...

Nate and I about to dive in the inflatable obstacle.

Just before I entered the final mud pit.

Soccer

For the past couple Saturdays Jacob has been playing soccer.  It is so fun to watch the kids play. I know they are only 5 but I get so into it... Yes, I'm the mom yelling on the sidelines.  He has even scored a couple goals which makes it even more fun!  Here are a couple pictures of Jacob playing last Saturday when I finally remembered to bring the camera.

Evan's Birthday Party

This was the first year that Evan had beautiful weather for his birthday.  In fact it was HOT (muggy, but I'll take it).  The kids had lots of fun playing in a bounce house (thanks to Katie for letting us borrow it) and trying to break open the pinata. Evan is enjoying each and every present.  In fact, there has been a disagreement between Jacob and Evan everyday concerning the new toys.

Monster truck theme deserves a monster truck cake.

 Testing out the bounce house.

Happy Birthday Evan!

On April 10th my baby will turn 4 years old!
Evan has always been the lover of the family.
Watch out ladies... he'll suck you in with his big brown eyes then win you over with his bear hugs.  He doesn't give them out easily, but when he does.... he's gotcha!

Happy Birthday peanut butter.... we love you!

Crazy about lettuce.... just the core.. not the leaves.
 Loves puzzles!
Couldn't resist.  Along with dad and Jacob's potty training boot camp, this pirate hat was key to a diaper free home.
 What a lovable pout!
 Can you say stud muffin?
Looks like we need to upgrade to a bigger pool this summer.
Too cute not to throw in here.
 Loves his Jaxy!
 Super Jacob and Super Evan!
Loves playing with his big brother.
Always trying to make us smile!

Happy Birthday Nate!

 Happy Birthday to my hubby!
..and the best daddy ever!

 Take it easy.

 Hang out with old friends.
Don't loose your sense of humor.
You may want to practice your camera skills.
.....Only for you....
(My sincerest apologies to the rest of you.)
I LOVE YOU!!

Let it Snow! Let it Snow!.....wait, in April?

I always expect cold weather in April but come on!  We were playing baseball in the backyard yesterday afternoon without coats!  From 50 to snowing in less than 24 hours... crazy.  April Fools to us all!

Playtime

Boys playing nicely....

Two seconds later someone is pouting.

Here is Jacob practicing his smile. Seriously, all of our photos must be candid or we get this.
Hello Chandler Bing!

And it's starting to rub off on Evan.

Happy (belated) St. Patty's Day!

My first attempt at making and using fondant.  The shamrocks are cute but lack in the taste department.
( All the red and orange stayed on top and was covered by the icing.)

No time to look up for a picture.  I swear they act like I never feed them when in reality my grocery bill has doubled!  We are in big trouble once the teenage years come.

Random pics

If only Jacob would have put his head through that hole...
Man, he LOVES to rock and sing but it HAS to be on his terms.  If he's not feelin' it, he's not feelin' it.

A quick shot at the Kids Expo last weekend.

Jacob is watching TV (probably Tom & Jerry).  I was sitting 5 feet away calling his name and he never broke his concentration once!  Selective hearing??

Five-teen

I never really thought about it but it makes more sense to say five-teen than fifteen.
