Zoo Love

The boys and I went to the zoo today. The giraffes and monkeys are my favorites. They were both posing nicely for pictures today so I thought I would share.

Tractors and Diggers

This is our back yard... A little boys dreamland.
Jacob is standing by the tractors in the first picture.

Our friends

Many of you have pets at your house but at the Bindl house we have friends! So I think it is time that everyone meets our household friends. On the left we have Evan's friends Ducky and Buster. On the right are Jacob's friends Other Freddy, Puppy, and Freddy. We often find the boys talking to their friends and reading them stories. And when they are ready for bed their friends are always at their side. Jacob has had two Freddy's ever since the day where he accidentally saw our spare Freddy. After that there was no keeping it from him, so from that day on he has had two Freddy's.

But when it comes down to it Buster and Freddy (and blankies) are their true prized possessions. According to Jacob only Freddy can talk. Other Freddy, the one that has no eyeballs can not see or talk. (I don't think he remembers biting off his eyeballs). So now you can understand why we don't have any pets. There simply isn't any room!

My peaceful afternoon

This afternoon I was on the computer while the boys played... quietly, it was almost too good to be true. I got up to go take a picture of the chair rail (or casing) that Nate put up in the boys bedroom this past weekend and this is what I found....
That quiet time was spent taking the toys and books from the toy room and dumping them into the middle of their bedroom. Good thing half of their toys are away in the closet. Boys! At least they were getting along, right?

I am very excited that we were able to take the border down from their walls... I was never happy with it. The wood looks much better and will last as the boys get older. Now we need to go shopping for actual beds. Yep, Evan has officially graduated. Yeah!!! He moved into his big boy bed (or mattress for now) over the past week. Goodbye crib!!!

Copy Cat

Over the past couple weeks Evan has started saying more and more. We caught a little on camera to share with you. We must have sat on the couch for ten minutes saying words back and forth, with Evan giggling after every one.
Jacob is being his usual..... crazy, all-over-the-place self.

Cheese!

One of Evan's favorite things lately is to have his picture taken, but every picture looks the same because he says CHEEEESE!

Wedding fun

Nate's cousin, Wendy was married this weekend. Jacob had been waiting all week to dance. He practiced every day. So when the day of the wedding came who could expect him to wait until the 'dance' started? Dinner music works well for dancing too.
Evan on the other hand didn't have much interest in dancing once he saw that they were serving cake! One thing is for sure, our boys will never be labeled the calm and quiet ones. Nate and I received many comments similar to 'I'm tired just watching you guys' and 'don't they ever get tired?' It was hard to tell who was more tired at the end of the night, us or them.

Green Grass

I am pleased to announce that we finally have grass! Our irrigation system was put in last Wednesday/Thursday. Sod arrived Thursday afternoon and we finished around 6:30. It was hard work but it went smoothly and looks great. Because we live on a hill we had to hammer staples into each piece of sod....1000 staples! Talk about an arm workout!!! Now we just have to wait and pray that it takes.

Good Times

It's moments like these that you realize it is all worth it.
