Nate's best friend was in town this past weekend. They grew up together and have remained good friends even though Ryan lives in Arizona. So when Ryan came home with his kids, Tristan and Isaac and fiancee Megan, we were very excited. It was nice to see Nate and Ryan together again, and I think they were happy to see their boys playing together for the first time. Below are a couple pics from the weekend.

Brotherly Love
When I woke up the other day before going to work I looked out the window to see this. Jacob was giving Evan rides down the slide. So cute!

Baby Chicks
It's that time of year again. Gma Bindl just received her baby chicks in the mail. Nate took the boys out to see them while they are still fuzzy and cute. However this years trip was much more eventful than he wanted. Not one but two catastrophes. First Evan went up and grabbed the heat lamps you see in the picture below. He ended up with third degree burns on four of his fingers. Then, while everyone was tending to Evan, Jacob decided that he needed some attention too. So he ended up slipping somehow and banging his mouth on the counter. He broke open his gums above his front teeth.... blood bath! So while Evan played in cool water Jacob got to take a trip to the dentist.

Fun at the Park
Today the boys and I met up with some friends at a park. Then about 30 minutes after we showed up a couple bus loads of kids joined in the already busy park! That made it next to impossible for us to watch all of our kids so we had to move the fun behind the park to the grass. The kids didn't seem to skip a beat. They all had a great time!

Jacob and Evan fell asleep on the way home and I successfully transferred them into their beds. I thought I was home free! I went outside to read my book and not even 30 minutes later they were bouncing off the walls again! Where do they get their energy?!
The pictures below are of naked balloon fun, as they like to call it.

Horsey Rides
Evan loves horsey rides and Jacob will amuse him from time to time when mom and dad are too tired to give another horsey ride.
Once you start giving Evan rides, he doesn't make it easy for you to stop.

Farmers Market
Nate and I have lived in Madison for 7 years now so I thought it was about time I brought him to the Farmers Market on the Square. I have only been to it a couple times myself.
Nate and Evan loved all the cheese and beef sticks. Well, Nate tried to eat his but Evan ended up taking it away from him. It makes me wonder where it all goes... we still find Evan without pants on because they fall of his little butt.
It was 10:30 when we got home and Jacob told me his legs were tired and that he had a fun day! I was very tempted to say OK, time for bed, but instead I informed him that the day had just started.

Half Marathon Complete!
I am very pleased to announce that Chad, Lisa, Nate and I completed the Madison Half Marathon on Sunday. Speaking personally, it was one of the hardest things I have ever done, but I am very proud to say I did it! We didn't escape without injuries, but the experience was worth it. If there ever is a next time I think I will be nicer to my body and spend a lot more time training. Right now healing is at the top of my list.

Thank you grandma and grandpa Bindl for tackling the boys for us!

Simple Toys
Nate and I had some work to do outside today so we needed something to keep the boys busy. When we were up in MN last weekend my mom gave each of the boys a spray bottle and told them to go water the plants. So, I gave them the biggest bottles I could find and told them to go paint (a.k.a. spray) the rocks and wash the house. This kept them busy for most of the afternoon. Thanks for the good idea mom!

Go Big or Go Home!
Lately I feel like my life is made up of fun, happy moments with my kids or full blown tantrums, and whining. Not too much of the quiet in between stuff.
